Subchorionic bleed anyone?

Okay, I was diagnosed with a small subchorionic bleed Saturday night at the ER.  I went in for brown spotting and had an ultrasound. Baby measured good and HB also measured good (Yay!)  On Monday night, the bleeding turned to red.  Sure I was miscarrying, I called the Dr on call who told me to go in Tuesday morning for another ultrasound.  Baby still had a beating heart and was slightly larger even, but there was still a bleed.

I know these are fairly common, but it is so disconcerting to see blood during pregnancy, that I was hoping some of you could reassure me that things can be okay....

Thanks ladies!

I was diagnosed with that when I was pregnant with the twins.  I had one behind both placentas!! It was scary, but it eventually healed itself and now I have 2 healthy boys!  Good Luck!

I have had some bleeding/spotting the whole time since pregnant. They dont say why but everything with the baby is alright. Got to even hear the baby on Monday at 11 weeks along. So I say as long as they are following you well and keeping an eye on it try and stay calm. Never easy I know but as long as they know what it is I have heard those get better!!

I was diagnosed with one at 11 weeks. I did see some brown spotting before that (was sure I was miscarrying again). I saw it again at 16 weeks, some brown, red and pink. Since then everything has been fine - they didn't say anything about it at my 20 week or 32 week ultrasound. It is small, it will heal on it's own. My Dr. didn't even seem too concerned - mine was also the full length of my placenta where it attaches to the wall - but very thin.

Thanks so much for the replies! I am feeling tons better about it.  Mine is so small, the they didn't even bother to measure it.

I just wanted to let you know my sister had one, and she bleed a few times, but baby was okay every time they check...they told her that she should be on modified bedrest to help it close.  So she worked and took it easy in the time away from work, not exercise and little activity that wasn't 100% needed.  Within a few weeks..poof it was gone. Keeping you in my thoughts. (Oh- she has a healthy wonferful little girl who is almost 3 months!)

With my last pregnancy I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks...started spotting at 6 weeks and at 8 weeks they said it was a SCB.  At 12 weeks I was in the bathroom with deep red blood and alot of clots.  I freaked out and when I went to the ER, they did the ultrasound and couldn't find the clot anymore and baby was fine.  They said that it just broke down and came out.  I never spotted again after that!

They are scary.  Just know you aren't alone...but try and get your OB to keep up on it...maybe you could get more ultrasounds!  :^)
